My landlord won't return my deposit. What can I do?

I left the flat in good condition but it's been three months with no deposit back and no answers.

Send a formal written request, ideally by burofax, which gives you proof of delivery. The deposit should be returned within a set period after you hand back the keys, and interest can accrue. If that fails, consider mediation or the courts, perhaps with a lawyer.
