We're renovating and deciding between split units and an aerothermal system. Which is cheaper to run?

Aerothermal can be efficient and gives hot water too, but costs more to install. Split units are cheaper upfront and fine for a few rooms. Your electricity tariff and usage matter, so ask installers for a comparison, not a headline claim.
