How do I deal with ants and cockroaches?

The kitchen has ants coming in every morning and I've seen a few cockroaches. Is this normal?

Common in warm climates. Keep food sealed, wipe surfaces, fix leaks and seal gaps. Bait gels work better than sprays for ants. For persistent problems, a pest control company is worth calling.
